STANDARDS & PROTOCOLS

7/3/2020 Update:
The County of Los Angeles Public Health Order issued on 7/1  has mandated that  all patrons and employees of gyms must wear masks and gloves at ALL times while onsite, which includes workout time.  This is new information and we want you to be aware and prepared prior to coming to the studio for your next session or class. We will be supplying a surgical face mask (which we find to be the most comfortable for exercising) and a first set of gloves for your convenience. Additional masks and gloves will be available for purchase.

We appreciate your willingness to comply with these new measures for the safety of  all. With your help we can continue to stay open and serve the needs of our wellness community at at time when we need each other the most. ~Christine, Studio Owner
STANDARDS & PROTOCOLS
Picture
Attendance Policy: All Clients will be encouraged to stay home when they are ill or if they are experiencing or exhibiting ANY symptoms of Covid-19 including shortness of breath, coughing, fever, weakness, fatigue, chills, sore throat, loss of taste or smell or other less common symptoms that have been reported such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Cleaning/Disinfecting: Products: We have updated cleaning and disinfecting to involve a full disinfecting protocol of equipment before and after every session or class using EPA approved disinfectants that kill 99.9% of germs and viruses in 60 seconds and that provide full spectrum virucidal benefits with ten minutes of contact. Cleaning measures are being increased in between sessions and classes. We are using the following EPA approved disinfectants onsite: Odoban, Coastwide Professional Hepastat 256

Hand Sanitizers:  Clients are required to use hand sanitizer upon entering the studio. Hand Sanitizing Stations are accessible throughout the studio.

Hand Washing: Clients and Staff are being asked to comply with a strict hand washing and disinfecting protocol before and after  attending every session on site. We have placed a no touch hand soap dispenser for thorough 20-30second hand washing pre-class and post-class for all clients and staff.

Open/Closed Door Policy:  Staff will be opening and then closing the studio entrance door  to minimize client contact time with surfaces. The door will remain locked during classes and will be opened by the instructor at the end of the class. The studio door will be opened  10 minutes prior to the beginning of the next session/class. Until further notice, the Private Room and Tower Room Doors will always remain open  to encourage proper air flow.

Staggered Entry Policy: Clients are being asked to remain in their cars until ten minutes prior to their scheduled class, at which time the studio doors will be opened for them to enter. This will ensure adequate time between classes. Classes will also be maintaining a strict one hour policy request for all clients onsite. Classes and sessions will include 50 minutes of instruction with 10 remaining minutes designated for cleaning/sanitizing/hand washing.

No-Guest Policy: Clients are being advised to arrange child care prior to their class/session as we will not be allowing guests onsite who are not participating in a class/session.

Health Checks: Staff and clients will have their temperatures taken every time they enter the studio to ensure that they are within a safe range as recommended by the CDC. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 F/38.4 C or higher will be asked to leave the studio immediately.

Client Equipment Stations: Upon entry to the studio, after passing the required temperature check, and washing/sanitizing their hands,  clients will be directed to find their station for class, where they will place all  personal items in their assigned cubby. Classes will not change rooms once they have started.

Mask Policy: The County of Los Angeles Public Health Order issued by Governor Newsom on 7/1  has mandated that  all patrons and employees of gyms must wear masks and gloves at ALL times while onsite, which includes workout time. We will be supplying a surgical face mask (which we find to be the most comfortable for exercising) and a first set of gloves for your convenience. Additional masks and gloves are  available for purchase. If a client enters the studio without a mask they will be automatically be required to purchase a disposable mask  (billing $1 to the credit card on file). *As Health Recommendations continually evolve so will our mask policy. *Instructors are required to wear a mask and and/or face shield while teaching sessions based on current CDC recommendations.

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Glove Policy: As of 7/1, Gloves are now required for clients at all times when onsite. The studio will have disposable gloves available onsite for a nominal $.50 charge to the credit card on file.

Personal Items/Cubbies: We are providing single use liners for personal items to be placed in individually lined cubbies placed at each client station. Staff and clients will be encouraged to leave all oversized items in their cars. Clients should only bring in items that will fit  in the liner that will fit in the cubby provided.

Plastic Bags:  The studio is providing plastic bags for personal items, which are to be stored in individual cubbies placed at each client station.

Studio hours and Class schedules: We will be limiting  operating hours and class schedules to allow for thorough cleaning/disinfecting and  social distancing. The studio class schedule will continually be modified and adjusted as needed to ensure the highest adherence to safety protocols.

Picture
Social Distancing: We are adding several measures to increase social distancing including staggered class times, limiting the maximum number of clients in class, and limiting the number of staff working on site. We are also ensuring a minimum distance of at least 6 feet between clients.

Studio Equipment:Reformers: We have implemented Balanced Body Vinyl Loop Covers on all of our Double Loop Cloth Handles on our Studio Reformers to allow for deeper cleaning and disinfecting  between uses.

Studio Equipment: Props:
All props and supplies needed before, during, or after class will be provided by and put away by staff to minimize contact time with surfaces.

Towel Policy: We are continuing to provide hand towels for our guests to use at their own discretion.

Sock Policy: Socks are required for all classes/sessions and will be available for purchase only. We will no longer be providing rental socks.

No Touch Policy: Until further notice we are no longer providing tactile cueing or hands on adjustments during classes/sessions.

Air Flow Policy: As much as it is possible we will be utilizing natural air flow through our 5 large studio windows to keep fresh air  circulating.

Updated Liability Waiver: Our updated liability waiver explains the inherent risks of participating in any fitness regiment and particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Clients are being requested to alert the management if they test positive for COVID-19 after having participated in a class or session at Balance & Grace Pilates.

Picture
Contactless Retail Store: We are asking all clients to update their credit card information in their MindBody DeskTop Profile to allow for contactless billing and retail transactions onsite. Staff will not be permitted to handle any credit cards and compliance with this request  will expedite all onsite retail purchases. Until further notice the studio will not be accepting any cash transactions but we will be accepting pre-written checks (we will not be sharing pens onsite).

Amenities: Until further notice we will not be  providing amenities such as hair ties. Female hygiene products will be available upon request.
