Program Details Lolita’s Legacy is a 500-hour comprehensive broken down into 4 separate modules typically offered in 2-4 day intensive workshops, offered every 4-8 weeks through a 12-18 month period. It is the only comprehensive training program created by a 1st Generation living elder. All Lolita Educators are 2nd Generation Pilates Master teachers who have studied with Lolita San Miguel extensively and who have completed her rigorous Pilates Master Mentor Training Program. Graduates from Lolita's Legacy will hold distinction as 3rd Generation Pilates Teachers of the highest caliber directly from the lineage of Joseph H. Pilates.
The Lolita's Legacy Teacher Training Program itself is comprehensive and all inclusive in covering beginning, intermediate, and advanced repertoire. It includes extensive information on: Fundamentals and principle’s of Pilates, historical and contemporary Pilates exercises on the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze Table, Chair, Barrels and Auxiliary equipment and their safety guidelines, history and evolution of the method, teaching philosophy and protocols, anatomy, physiology, and science of Pilates movement with an anatomy manual written exclusively for Lolita’s Legacy.
As a new instructor you will be encouraged to develop an eye for movement and a variety of other client assessment skills, learn how to safely work with clients who have special needs or injuries through movement progressions, regressions, variations, and modifications. You will be mentored throughout the program with extensive feedback and interactive teaching opportunities.
Creating Superior Teachers Lolita's Legacy™ training program has the primary goal of ensuring a superior teacher training program that goes beyond simple criteria requirements of multiple training schools today. Lolita doesn't wish to train as many teachers as possible but only train outstanding teachers. Therefore, her challenge was to create a unique training program that educates Pilates teachers who will acquire a high level of practical knowledge with a flawless understanding of the origin of the Pilates method and its future challenges.
Safety First Joseph Pilates was a genius by creating Pilates in its time and its combined heritage with the latest scientific research on movement, has allowed Lolita's Legacy™ to become one of the most respectful of the traditional method while opening the mind of every teacher to a more contemporary and more accessible to today's expectations. Learn about all the anatomy and the theory of motion with variations and modifications to each Pilates exercise. Learn what exercises are contraindicated for some injuries and how to give clients variety with-in their limitations.

Why Should I Study with Christine Ivy?
Christine Ivy(2nd Generation Teacher, LSM Pilates Master, BASI Certified, Dance Specialization, Owner of Balance & Grace Pilates) has been teaching the Pilates Method for over 11 years. As a young dancer she discovered Pilates after a dehabilitating injury and immediately recognized its benefits. While later obtaining a BA in Dance, with a specialized Option in Dance Science, Christine spent four years studying a deeper application of Pilates under the guidance of renowned author and Pilates expert Karen Clippinger. In 2006 Christine was certified by Clippinger through BASI with a Dance Specialization. In 2015, after nine years of teaching at studios throughout Southern California, Christine established Balance & Grace Pilates and opened its doors in her hometown of Glendora, California. Later that year esteemed Pilates Elder Lolita San Miguel welcomed Christine into her hand selected Pilates Master Mentor Program and upon graduating in 2017 invited her to become a Legacy Educator.
Christine is well known for having a keen and analytical eye, the ability to capture the imagination with vivid imagery, holds a great passion and enthusiasm for sharing the Method, and most importantly wields the ability to teach any and every body with the same compassion and integrity. She recognizes the importance of incorporating mind, body, and spirit within all facets of life and fitness and approaches Pilates with Passion, Patience, Practice, and Perseverance. Christine is honored and proud to be passing the torch that Joseph Pilates gave to Lolita, and that Lolita has now given to Christine, to a passionate 3rd Generation of Pilates Teachers.

The studio itself is on the second floor where it is flooded with natural light. Fully equipped with 5 Balanced Body Reformers, 1 Balanced Body Clinical Reformer/Tower, 1 Cadillac, 5 Towers, 5 Combo Chairs, 2 Ladder Barrels, 1 Ped-o-Pull, 5 Motrs, 5 Orbits, 6 Water Rowers, and a large assortment of Props and Auxiliary Equipment there is generous room for observation and practice in one of its 3 separate training rooms. It is one of 3 Pilates Studio in California currently hosting Lolita's Legacy and is the only studio in the Greater Los Angeles area that holds this distinction.
Located in picturesque downtown Glendora in sunny California students are a stones throw to a wide array of coffee shops, restaurants, and fine dining walking distance along the block. There is ample free parking in all directions and there is even a pet store two doors down! It is less then 5 minutes driving distance from the local police department, gas stations, the freeway, hotels, the local college, and several churches. For those traveling a distance, the studio is located approximately 25 minutes east of Downtown Pasadena and just 45 minutes east of downtown Los Angeles. Its approximately 60 minutes north of NewPort Beach, just 30 minutes north of Disneyland, and about an hour drive to either the beach or the mountains.
